Oracle
is a unique publishing service with the goal of advancing the success of
the individual author by providing a wealth of resources and information
to empower and enlighten. Other publishing services take a writer's work,
format it, package it in a book cover, and put it in the marketplace.
Little thought is given to educating the author in the field, or advancing
the author's skills. The author will certainly be published, but the
writer must then navigate the confusing path that leads to success with no
guidance and precious few resources.
Large publishing houses
provide much more service and consideration, moving the work through the
myriad of actions that insure professionalism and success, but the author
will pay dearly for it. They are almost guaranteed to remain ignorant of
the process. For this service they lose the proprietary rights to
their work and enter a contract and process controlled solely by the
publisher's bottom line. Royalties are minimal and their level of control
is minimal over their own success. That is, of course, considering
the author can prevail in the large publishing house lottery, which is
seldom won. The entire process is subject to the eccentricities and policies of the
publishers and the ever-changing winds of the marketplace.
Oracle's approach is unique. We provide access to the
resources and information, which will empower authors to improve their
skills, learn the "tricks of the trade", and feel comfortable in the
profession. An author should control not only the rights to their
work, but the many aspects involved in making that work a success. We do
publish books and provide a full publishing service, but our belief is
that a knowledgeable and empowered author is more likely to succeed. The
author may choose to take advantage of our in-house services, but it will
be because she, or he, desires to do so, not because we require it.
